A Jónás könyve című előadás a mű ma is aktuális tartalmát és mondanivalóját bontja ki mozgásszínházi formanyelven. Demcsák Ottó koreográfiája Babits gondolatait helyezi előtérbe, azokat próbálja meg felerősíteni, kicsengetni.
Az író kortársainak számtalan anekdotája szól arról, hogy kórházi ágyán a már súlyos beteg Babits gyakran megmosolyogta, sőt kikacagta csetlő-botló hősét. Az előadás ezt a mosolyt próbálja megidézni, szakítva a mű pátoszos felmondásával. Az estet a Jónás imája című vers keretezi, amelyben Babits önmagára vonatkoztatja Jónás sorsát. A mű olyan kérdéseket vet fel, melyek megkerülhetetlenül elénk sodródnak életünk folyamán: Ki vagyok én? Biztosan jól cselekszem-e? Azt az életet élem, amit szeretnék? Megszökhetek a sorsom, a küldetésem elől? És így már nem is tűnik olyan távolinak a Jónás könyve.
