Az udvarba érkező Orlando a szintén a bitorló által eltávolított nemes fia hősi küzdelemben bírja le ellenfelét - Rosalindában először kíváncsiságot, majd szerelmet ébresztve. Frederick ezt sem nézi jó szemmel, így Rosalindát apja után küldi. A két lány azonban együtt, álruhában távozik.
